- I have a 1200 expanded with the GVP 1230 w/68030 @ 40 MHz, FPU @ 40 MHz,
- and 4 MB GVP RAM. It seems there must be a hairline crack on the board or
- something because the computer crashes intermittently when the board is
- in. I encounter no problems when the board is out, so I know there is a
- problem with the board. Removing the FPU and/or RAM makes no difference.
-
- What I have been doing to resolve this: when the computer does not boot
- (80% of time), I lift up the 1200, pull down on the GVP board a few times (I
- have removed the trap door), and turn the computer back on. This will
- enable me to use the computer for anywhere from 1 min to 10 hours before
- it GURU's. The most frequent applications to crash it are Term 4.5,
- AmiTCP & Mosaic, and Fields of Battle Demo (what an awesome game!),
- although it will intermittently crash with any application.
-
- Is it possible to have this repaired? Who would repair it? How many
- limbs would it cost me? Am I better off to live with it? Help!
